Privacy Policy & Cookies

Last updated: January 04, 2026

Overview

This policy explains what data we collect when you browse gurgleapps.com or use our shop, how we use that data, and what rights you have. We are a family-run maker studio, so we keep things simple: we only collect the information needed to ship orders, run our community, and improve our content.

Who we are

GurgleApps (“we”, “us”) is a family-run maker team based in the UK. We currently operate as a sole trader business trading as GurgleApps while we complete incorporation paperwork. For privacy questions please use our contact form; we’ll reply promptly and can provide a correspondence address if needed. We keep our home details private for security reasons.

Information we collect

  • Orders & accounts: name, email, shipping/billing address, phone (optional), order history.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
  • Support: messages you send via email or contact forms.
  • Technical data: anonymised analytics (pages visited, device type, approximate region) via Google Analytics.
  • Cookies: session IDs, cart state, theme preferences, analytics cookies.

How we use your data

  • Fulfil orders and provide customer support.
  • Operate your account and send service emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets).
  • Improve our tutorials, livestreams, and shop experience.
  • Monitor for fraud/abuse and keep our services secure.
  • Send optional marketing/newsletters if you opt in (unsubscribe anytime).

Sharing & processors

We only share data with providers who help us run the business:

  • Stripe – secure payment processing.
  • Postmark – transactional email (order confirmations, password resets).
  • Cloudflare – security, CDN, DNS.
  • Shipping partners – Royal Mail, DHL, or similar couriers (name, address, phone/email for delivery updates).
  • Google Analytics – anonymised site analytics.

These partners process data on our behalf under contracts that protect your information.

Legal bases

  • Contract: processing orders, payments, support, account management.
  • Legitimate interests: analytics, fraud prevention, product improvement.
  • Consent: marketing emails and non-essential cookies.

Cookies

By browsing the site you agree to our cookie use. Types we set:

  • Strictly necessary: session/cart tokens, CSRF protection, auth cookies.
  • Functional: remember theme preference, store recently viewed items.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) for aggregate usage. Opt out using your browser or GA’s add-on.

You can block cookies via your browser, though key features (cart, checkout) may stop working.

Retention & security

Account and order data is retained for as long as needed to fulfil orders, provide support, and meet legal/tax obligations (typically 6 years in the UK). When data is no longer required we delete or anonymise it. We use TLS encryption, least-privilege access, and routine security reviews across our systems.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your data, or object to certain processing. Use our contact form. You also have the right to complain to the UK ICO or your local regulator.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK/EU (e.g., Stripe, Postmark, Google). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect those transfers.

Changes

We may update this policy. We’ll post the new date at the top, and continued use of the site indicates acceptance of the update.
