Assembly & Setup Guides
Faceplate & Matrix Option
Includes the faceplate and 8 × 8 LED matrix only.
To complete the clock you will need to:
- 3D print the case
- Add a Raspberry Pi Pico
- Supply a suitable USB power lead
Additional Faceplate Options
- Black faceplate (with logo)
- White faceplate
- Black faceplate (no logo)
Faceplates are sold separately and do not include electronics.
Please note: the white faceplate slightly reduces blue light transmission compared to the black version.

Fully Assembled Option
The fully assembled Word Clock arrives ready to use. Simply attach the feet, plug it in, connect to WiFi, and adjust the settings through the web interface.

Ordered on the 4th, Gurgleapps sent it out via Royal Post on the 5th; it arrived in the US on the 15th. The clock is beautifully designed and crafted (thanks Caleb). It took me 5 minutes to start up and connect, and it’s been stable and reliable ever since. Admirable work from the Gurgleapps crew.

Was despatched really quickly and arrived in good time. I’m really impressed with the finished product and the care and attention taken with the kit and the instructions. 10/10 – I loved building it. It’s been decades since I soldered anything and it was very gratifying to see it work the first time. The kit was beautifully packaged and even included a handwritten note. I appreciated the care taken and will probably buy another kit for my youngest.
